札幌出身でイギリスに6年留学しておりました。
大学では社会学と犯罪学を専攻しており、札幌に戻ってから自分が苦労して学んだ英語を使って、これから英語を学びたい方々のお手伝いをしたいと思いました。
英語は勉強していても使わないと英語力は伸びないと自身の経験で学び、英会話カフェを始めました。
お茶を飲みながら外国人スタッフと英会話を楽しみましょう♪

Hi! I’m Yukako and I’m from Sapporo. I lived in the U.K. for 6 years and studied sociology and criminology at a university in the east of England.  I look forward to using the English I learnt in the United Kingdom at Chit Chat Cafe!  Of course, I am Japanese, so if you have any problems or questions you can ask me in Japanese too!
I love travelling and meeting people from different countries. We hope this is a place you can practice your English with a relaxing atmosphere while having a cup of tea or coffee. If you want to improve your English, please come along and have a chat with our staff! We are really looking forward to seeing you all at our cafe!

My name is Ivona Maléřová and I'm from Czech Republic.

I was born in a small village in the mountains, very similar to those in Hokkaido.

I came to Sapporo two years ago to study Japanese language and Japanese literature.

Thus, I am spending nights and days under the kanji textbooks and novels by Haruki

Murakami, in whose literature I specialize.  Now I am a postgraduate student at the Slavic Research Center in Hokkaido University.

I will get used to living in Sapporo very soon. It is a lovely city, with kind people, beautiful surroundings and last but not least, delicious food!!

I have a lot of hobbies, but recently I love most of all eating a lot of sushi or ‘oden’, jogging at Toyohira River, swimming in the pool in Higashiku and through the winter skiing in Niseko.

I am very interested in Japanese culture and have started to learn Japanese puppetry (bunraku) and I have started training in karate – in both cases I am suffering a lot, but enjoying it as well!

Hello! My name is Jack Taylor, and I'm from Sheffield in the UK. I have lived in Japan for three years, but I only just came to Sapporo.

I love the snow here! One of my favourite things to do is going snowboarding, and there's no better place than Hokkaido. I also play the violin and I studied music at university. I've been playing in orchestras since I was a child, so if you like that kind of thing please ask me about it! I'll see you in Chit Chat Cafe soon.

After getting my university degree in Hong Kong (Marketing), I have been working long enough as busy OL, so, this year, I decided to take a 1-year long vocation to explore life & have good rest. That’s why, I am now here in Sapporo! I have been living in Sapporo since April this year, and will return Hong Kong by March 2011. I am only a “part-time” Japanese student here, as my “full-time” job is to enjoy my precious time in Japan, to travel to as many places as I can and to meet as many new friends as I can. So, I love going to Chit-Chat Café and talking with all of you guys!

Sapporo is very different from Hong Kong, it is beautiful and quiet (though I also enjoy the festivals at Odori & Nakajima Koen :P). During weekend, I enjoy going to Odori, simply walking or sitting on the grass, watching cute Japanese children playing in the fountain. And whenever there is long school holiday, I love to visit different places in Hokkaido. I have already been to Hakotade, Kushiro, Akanko, Shiretoko and Abashiri. My next stops will be Furano and Asahikawa for the wonderful lavender in summer time! So, next time when you see me appear at your home town or any scenic spots, please don’t hesitate to come forward and say “hello” ^.^!

Hey, what's up?  My name's Hans and I'm from a city in California called Santa Clarita, about a 25 minute drive north of LA. I've been studying Japanese for over 10 years and just recently started living in Sapporo.  I was a game designer for over 7 years before deciding to take up residency in the beautiful city of Sapporo.

In my spare time I like breaking out the paddle for some table tennis, fishing, playing video games, movies, cooking, listening to music, and watching Japanese variety/comedy shows.  When winter comes around and snow blankets the mountains, I plan to hit the slopes for some snowboardin'. 

I'm fascinated by languages and the cultures they're used in.  I find it really fun exploring the differences and similarities between languages and cultures.
